The Summer of Meat

When I was 18 I got a job in the kitchen of Ruby River Steak House. I learned to cook just about any sort steak to any temperature you like, although I have a hard time cooking anything to Well Done. Ever since my eight months on the grill at the restaurant I've usually been the one with the tongs and spatula in my hand when BBQ is concerned. I'm no great chef by any means but I've been known to cook a tasty steak or put beautiful grill marks on a burger. So with June in full swing and already several tasty meals under the belt I thought it appropriate to have a little meat on hand for the summer.

Oh, wait, did I say a little meat? Excuse me, what I meant to say was a truckload of meat. 1/3 of a cow to be exact. My freezer is full of it as you can see. So let the summer of BBQ begin. Come over for a T-bone or a Ribeye or some Short Ribs.

Here's the spoils from one of our most recent cookouts.

I guess that is what my freezer will look like in about three hours. I have to go eat some ribs at the Tarshas before I take my part of the cow home. Too bad you didn't stay for the BBQ. :) Happy grilling.

Ha ha. Yup. Looks just like my freezer! Except add in some of last years beef, and lots of elk! Chad loves grilling too and is having too much fun with his new Trager grill... we should get together!!
